RankMySeller Privacy Policy

RankMySeller respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information may be collected or processed when you use RankMySeller and how that information is used.

You do not need to create an account or provide your name, email address, or other personal information to search RankMySeller.

When using RankMySeller, you may provide:

Search queries. Search terms you enter are processed to retrieve relevant eBay listings. When analytics is enabled, RankMySeller may also send a sanitized version of a search term to Google Analytics as described below.

Shipping ZIP code. You may optionally enter a U.S. ZIP code to receive more accurate shipping information. Your ZIP code is stored locally in your browser so it can be remembered for future searches. It is also provided to eBay as location context when requesting listing and shipping information.

Feedback. You may voluntarily submit feedback and, if you would like a response, provide an optional email address. The feedback form does not require an account.

RankMySeller does not currently maintain user accounts or store your search history or ZIP code in a RankMySeller user database.

RankMySeller uses Google Analytics 4 (GA4) to understand site traffic and how visitors use the website. Analytics information may include page visits, traffic source, referral and acquisition information, browser and device information, interactions with the website, searches, search-result activity, scrolling, and result expansion. Google may also process technical, device, and network information when providing the service.

Before a search term is sent to GA4, RankMySeller trims and limits it and removes clearly formatted email addresses and phone numbers. A search analytics event is suppressed when the remaining term appears to consist predominantly of this information. Google Analytics email redaction and redaction of the q and zip URL parameters are also enabled as additional safeguards.

RankMySeller does not intentionally send the separate shipping ZIP code, feedback content or feedback email addresses, seller identities, eBay listing or item IDs, affiliate URLs, or eBay Partner Network tracking or transaction data as custom analytics event parameters.

This implementation is used for analytics, not remarketing or personalized advertising. Advertising-related consent is kept denied.

RankMySeller uses eBay services to provide listing information, including product details, prices, seller feedback information, shipping information, and auction information.

When you select a listing, you are directed to eBay. Your activity after leaving RankMySeller is governed by eBay's own terms and privacy practices.

RankMySeller also uses third-party hosting and infrastructure providers to operate the website. These providers may process technical information such as IP addresses, browser information, request information, and server logs as part of operating and securing their services.

RankMySeller uses Resend as email-delivery infrastructure. Resend may process feedback and an optional reply email address as necessary to deliver a feedback message to RankMySeller.

RankMySeller participates in the eBay Partner Network. Links from RankMySeller to eBay may contain affiliate tracking information that allows eBay to identify that a visit or qualifying transaction originated from RankMySeller.

As an eBay Partner, RankMySeller may be compensated if you make a purchase.

eBay and its partners may use cookies or other technologies in connection with affiliate tracking. Their collection and use of information are governed by their respective privacy policies.

When analytics is allowed, GA4 may use analytics cookies or similar browser identifiers to distinguish visits and understand website usage. RankMySeller does not use this analytics implementation for advertising, remarketing, or personalized advertising.

RankMySeller uses your browser's local storage to remember a ZIP code you choose to provide.

RankMySeller also uses local storage to remember an explicit choice to allow or decline analytics. An implicit U.S. analytics default is not stored as an affirmative consent choice.

Third-party services or websites you visit through RankMySeller, including eBay, may use cookies or similar technologies according to their own policies.

For visitors in the United States, analytics is allowed by default after RankMySeller checks for a previously stored choice. You can opt out or change your choice at any time through the Analytics settings link in the website footer.

For visitors outside the United States, RankMySeller requires an affirmative choice before GA4 loads. If the visitor's country cannot be determined, RankMySeller also requires an affirmative choice. If you decline analytics, GA4 remains disabled. Explicit choices to allow or decline analytics are remembered locally in your browser and can be changed through Analytics settings.

Information processed through RankMySeller is used to operate the website, perform searches, provide more accurate shipping information, direct users to relevant eBay listings, review and respond to feedback, maintain security and reliability, troubleshoot problems, and understand and improve site traffic and usage.

RankMySeller does not currently maintain user accounts or a database containing individual users' search histories or shipping ZIP codes.

The feedback form sends submissions by email and does not create a feedback record in a RankMySeller database.

Analytics information is processed and retained by Google according to the applicable Google Analytics settings and Google's policies.

Technical logs maintained by RankMySeller's hosting and infrastructure providers may be retained according to those providers' policies and operational requirements.

You can remove the ZIP code stored by RankMySeller in your browser by clearing it through the RankMySeller interface or by clearing your browser's site data.

RankMySeller contains links to eBay and may contain links to other third-party websites. RankMySeller is not responsible for the privacy practices, content, or operation of third-party websites.

RankMySeller is not directed to children under 13 and does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

RankMySeller may update this Privacy Policy as the service changes. The effective date at the top of this page will be updated when material changes are made.
